Three Drills for Intermediate Tile Players

Short, repeatable exercises for candidate counting, state naming, and stop-rule adherence.

Drill one: five-second count

Pause at the top of a round and count match candidates in five seconds. Accuracy matters more than speed at first; speed arrives on its own after a week.

Drills two and three

Name the board state aloud each round, and log your stop-rule adherence as a simple yes or no. Both are boring, which is exactly why most players skip them and stay at the same level for months.
