Reading Cascade Patterns Without Fooling Yourself

Pattern recognition is a real skill in tile games. Pattern invention is the failure mode next to it.

Signal: board density

Count match candidates rather than tiles. A board with eight candidates behaves differently from one with two, and that difference is observable in the current frame, which makes it a legitimate read.

Noise: everything historical

Round history has no mechanical influence. If a claimed pattern requires memory the system does not have, it is noise. Keeping that line clean is most of what separates competent players from confident ones.
