Five Tile Games Judged on Readability Alone

We stripped out theme and audio and scored five popular titles on contrast, symbol distinctness, and motion load.

Why readability is the real review criterion

Tile games ask you to parse a dense symbol field repeatedly under time pressure. If two suits blur together at phone size, no amount of art direction saves the experience. We tested each title at 360 pixels wide with default settings.

The scoring table

Mahjong Ways 3 led on contrast, a Taipei-developed competitor led on motion restraint, and two titles failed the suit-distinctness test outright. Full per-title notes appear in each individual review.
